Laws and standards

We are constantly working to keep our courses up to date with current laws and standards.

To contribute to a positive development regarding work environment and safety, C2 is since 2010 a member of SIS/TK 403 Personal Fall Protection Equipment, a technical committee for the development of EN standards. We also help companies to write internal safety regulations and work environment plans. Below you will find websites and Swedish and European regulations regarding work at height. The list does not claim to be comprehensive or fully updated.

EU directive

What is a directive?

A directive sets out the objectives to be achieved by Member States, but leaves it to them to decide how to achieve them. The directive may apply to one or more Member States or to all Member States.

In order for the principles set out in the Directive to have an impact on citizens, the Member State legislator must transpose the Directive into national law by means of an act adapting the objectives of the Directive to the Member State's legislation.

The Directive sets a deadline for its transposition into national law: Member States have some room for manoeuvre in terms of transposition, allowing them to take account of national specificities. Transposition must take place within the deadline set by the Directive.

Directives are used to harmonise legislation in the Member States, including for the functioning of the internal market (e.g. product safety standards).
