Ice screws

5 products

Ice screws are used in ice climbing and alpinism to create secure anchor points in ice and snow. These screws are designed to penetrate and fasten in ice and provide the climber with the necessary safety and security during the climbing trip.

To use an ice screw, the climber chooses a suitable spot on the ice and places the tip of the screw against the ice. By rotating the handle clockwise, the climber creates a spiral path in the ice using the tip of the auger. This process is repeated until the auger has drilled deep enough into the ice to provide a stable anchor point. The climber can then attach the rope or climbing gear to the loop or carabiner attached to the handle of the ice auger.
