Complete window system for SAAB
A new office and workshop for SAAB in Lugnvik, Östersund – built entirely in wood – required a customized system for window cleaning and roof access.
Mission
The assignment was to develop a complete system for window cleaning and access to the glass roof for SAAB’s new office building and workshop in Lugnvik. The building is entirely built of wood, which placed special demands on finding the right fixing solutions in close collaboration with the architects at Krook & Tjäder and the contractor TreeAB.
Performance
The system was built around the H-rail mounted in four subsystems – two on the beams and two on the long sides. In addition to the skylight system, WING anchoring points were installed for access to the glass roof, attached with through-hole bars. Access to the H-rail is via an access hatch, where two additional WING points were installed inside the hatch together with a storage cabinet (ARMAC) for the sled and documentation.
Results
The installation includes a total of 100 meters of rail and 100 WING anchoring points, manufactured by Rothoblaas. The work was completed in 2026.
