GWO SLU - Service Lift User

The GWO Lift Training Standard is a new standard for training in the wind energy industry since 2023, and is an important and necessary step to increase safety and reduce risks when working on wind turbines.

The aim of this module is to enable the participant to operate a lift in a wind tower correctly. The training will provide participants with knowledge of several control systems and lift types. In addition, the participant will learn how to perform the necessary pre-use inspections and emergency measures - taking guidance from relevant manuals if necessary.

After completing the training, the participant will have an awareness of the use of lifts in a wind power environment. No prior knowledge is required to participate in the training.

The training includes only one module, which is carried out over 4 hours.

Target group

The GWO Service Lift User is a basic training for anyone working in wind turbines. For example, wind turbine technicians, repairers, electricians and others. The training ensures that everyone who works with and in a wind turbine has the same basic knowledge - a common minimum level of knowledge, methodology and safety thinking. GWO Service Lift User is a ½-day training programme conducted according to the international GWO standard.

Examination takes place through both practical and oral exercises. Continuous evaluation of the student takes place during the course days. In case of uncertainty, the student has the right to appeal the evaluation. This must be done in writing to the Training Manager.

GWO Service Lift User is conducted in warm indoor facilities throughout the year. Experienced and well-trained instructors from C2 Vertical Training lead the training. Completed and approved training gives international certificate according to GWO standard.

Health declaration

Before starting the programme, all students must sign a health declaration to confirm their state of health.

Course information

We provide the equipment and materials for the course. At C2's training courses, we always use the latest and best equipment available on the market. The courses can be held in both Swedish and English. The training is carried out at our training centre in Uppsala.

Coffee and lunch included. Minimum 4 max 12 participants.
