Pitons

Pitons are used to create belays in cliffs and rock faces. These metal spikes are specially designed to be driven into cracks or narrow cavities in the rock and act as fixed anchor points for the climber.

Pitons are made of durable and strong materials, usually steel or titanium. They have a pointed end to penetrate the rock and a loop or loops at the other end to attach the rope or climbing equipment. Pitons are available in different lengths and thicknesses to suit different types of cracks and holes.
